ok long story short i was baptized at 17 (because i felt pressured into it), and i was df about 2yrs ago i believe (i'm 27 now).
i wasn't at the final meeting, or any meeting about my dfing.
i had an elder call me twice at work and tell me that there was meeting that night.

I am of the feeling that nothing changes in this country without a strong voice in opposition to a wrong. Not that I am a bible thumper anymore but it does say that if you keep annoying even an unrighteous judge you will get justice.
If someone wants to call it attacking the Org. then I say you bet. I will always stand up for whats right and be against child molester protectors, killers through a poorly researched biblical no-Blood policy, and pschcopathic religious cults.
I once was sitting in the Kingdom Hall when the Watchtower lesson was on blood guilt. If one was to kill a crook when he was commiting a crime would Jehovah still receive you into the kingdom ? So I imagined myself walking down a dark street and a women being raped in a side ally at knife point with no else around to help, what would I do? I decided after day-dreaming on it for the rest of the study. I would hit that rapist as hard as I could and if it killed him good, to hell with their god blood-guilt bullshit! God can resurrect him back anyways why not me!
I could not see feeling good about myself nor could I look in the mirror and know that I had walked away from that victim. That is how I knew what to do and I would hope that I would be able to do just that if faced with it in the future.
Attack? Yes if someone is being hurt. Can,t do otherwize.

i have even heard some recent speculation on jesus possibly being born in march which is interesting.. october seems reasonable with the rational of "shepherds watched their flocks by night" and in the december months it would be too cold for them to be out?
I read the Interesting link above. I notice that the writer suggest Sept. for Jesus birth. This is based however on a guess too because he stated that "Likely" Holy Spirit impregnated her shortly after his visit with Mary.
The thought by Watchtower that the sheperds wouldn,t be out after dark and that it is to cold in December is nuts. I have seen sheep in my area with Six inches of snow on their backs walking around like nothing is wrong. Also if you will look in the back of the large print bilble(JW's) at the time chart you will see that our December is not all that cold in Isreal. Plus where do you think the sheep stay in Isreal in December anyway? All in coverd barns all day long? How about the hay that would take? We are not talking about sheperds with modern hay equipment here. Likely the sheperds did bring the sheep down from the mountains in the winter and graze close to home. The sheperds would still look after them in the fields. This being where grass was left to grow while they grased grass on the mountians in the summer.
I believe that brooklyn was too busy spending time telling others what to think and taking farmer's money back in the day to have ever worked down on the farm to understand this point. They having looked out their windows in December and seeing six feet of snow in New York.
for those of you who may not be familiar with my story, a little history may help clarify my dilemna.
i was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses, pioneered, became a ministerial servant, married a pioneer, and then became an elder, all before the age of thirty.
a few years ago, i began to have serious doubts about the teachings and religious system established by the watchtower.
My wife and I have left together so take my comments for what they are worth.
When I was a JW and met for field service once with a circuit overseer he asked those meeting the following question.
If you are married to an unbeliever and he or she wants to take the kids to another church should you let him?
Without exception the answer from the others was no! I spoke up and said yes because I knew of no way to stop him legally. The CO said I was right!
Whereas you seem to have little children, could you not teach them the things that you have learned about JW's and take them to non JW's family celebrations. Demand every other meeting hour to be yours? Make her divide the kids religious time up evenly, there's all the family time with the kids, then your time, and then her time. Make sure you get them for every sunday and go to different churches just for education purposes, even if your atheist. You get every Sunday because she gets them for every theocratic and service meeting on week nights. I have never seen witness meetings win with kids over fun and games and pizza after church.
This will take some time, not wanting to perpetuate the slavery of Watchtower to your kids or their offspring should be motivation enough.

Hi Garnet. Oh that is sad! All 149 people ate your food and wedding cake but won't even talk to you! Your story reminds me of one where a young member committed suicide and no one was allowed to go to the funeral. All of the elders refused to do the funeral too! My friend at the time Blaine Safstrom( Portland Ore. area) who was dedicated but not a elder did it. Funny though Blaine hasn't talked to me since I quit going 7 years ago. guess we all get love twinges from time to time then back to the borg.

Another thing what was meant by the founders buy Freedom of Religion was really Freedom from Religion. Freedom of government from Religion. All the Supeme Court did in the Thirties was setup little religious governments with their club rules. Dissassociation should be upheld as a law inforced non retaliation method by which the person leaves an organization. This should be on top of and override a previous disfellowshipping.

This specific kind of case is a waste of time and money. It has been stated that the JW's are a cult and this is true. When is the Supreme Court going to wake up and realize that that their freedom of religions helps cause Waco and Jones Towns to happen. Freedom of Religion cannot be absolute anymore than freedom of speech. Fredom of Religion was for the individual not for Corporations with their, we got you forever and we will take your reputation and family away if you try to leave rules.

Skyman, I doubt that you need to reveal your identity to me at all. If you're local then you might also know a fellow named John J. I have only unconfirmed second hand info about this fellow. Our congregation was effected by him though. I am wondering if you know of any coverup and forced shunning because of Watchtower pedophile policy in the Spokane area? Any attempted coverup where that victim is now silenced? Will these people talk?
Likewise any other place or reason in the US with this trouble.
